About Us...
Criccontest.com, launched in the month
of March 2000 is by now, the favourite site of cricket
lovers. Getting its users from all walks of life, from the
teeny-bopper college going student who would like to boast
it in front of his peers, to the smart executive who
sneakingly surfs the site without letting his boss know
about it, to the housewife who thinks of winning some cool free coupons to bask in her shopping
spree. The motto that runs deep in the veins of the
Criccontest team is to provide fun, contest and loads info
to its valuable users. What sets it apart from the peer
sites is that it is the first and perhaps the only dedicated
cricket contest portal of the world.
Criccontest.com, a dedication to the cricket fanaticism
all over the world is a brainchild of Anoop Wadhwa,
a cricket-nutt himself, who has all the matches and their
stats on his finger tips like a child who mugs up for his
examination. He hasn't greyed his hair with age but cricket,
cricket and just cricket. His passion for cricket is
simply unbeatable. Can give a complex to any other person claiming
to be the greatest Kapil Dev fan ever. Like-minded
Cricket Buffs like you may surely relate to
Criccontest.com. Cricket surely doesn't get
better than this.
Wanna know, who all are behind the success of the site, yearning to bring to
you the best and the most comprehensive site on cricket and contests.
Our team enjoys an energetic, creative and challenging company unlike any other, that promotes individual expression and innovation and fosters performance and achievement. Though we are a strongly built squad of atleast a dozen, comprising people from marketing and
internet related fields, the core team is as
under:
Shishir - A man of
strong convictions and one of cool temperament, just doesn't
give up things that easily. A never-say-die guy, would love
to die for 1 lady though, Preity Zinta. Simply nutts about
her, his desktop adorns a pretty Preity Zinta look. Though
the seniormost guy in the team, he still is the youngest at
heart. Would love to stay on a staple diet of pizzas and
coke forever. A perfect sense of humour and a sane
disposition keep him going on, the credit for the former, he
gives to his watching of Govinda movies. He derives his
inspiration from them. Can be caught humming tunes from the
flick 'Sangharsh'.
Seema
- The 'agony aunt' of our organization; jumps to
anybody's and everybody's help at the drop of the hat.
Simply nutts about the yesteryear Kamal Hasan starrer "Ek Dooje ke liye";
so much so that she can watch it for the nth time,
without any qualms. A food freak, lays her hands on anything
scrumptious that her colleagues bring in, hours before lunch
time. This spirited lady has a zest for life which she
fulfils with her quest for more. Our designer can play with
colors galore. Is passionate about her work; she eat,
sleeps, dreams criccontest :-)
Mohit - One chatterbox that we
have in our organisation. This livewire who keeps switched
on day in and day out. Prefers playing online chess when
he's not into serious coding. Loves listening to soft nos.
from Hariharan to Lobo all day long. Though shocks everybody
by playing Govinda nos. occasionally. Talks to one and all
in his team in refrains and rhyming schemes.
Basu - Enter Basu and a whiff
of jokes, humour comes along. Almost a standup comedian,
who keeps the atmosphere alive with his "why did it have
to be me?" jokes. Lost in his own world, his innocent carelessness
beats all. A typical bong who grabs his share of
"roshogolla", he never misses a chance to sing Bangla songs,
no matter if anybody is understanding 'em or not, and
mind you, he wouldn't like to be disturbed when His Majesty
is on his lunch table. He relishes each bite of his grub.
Sumita - This
sensitive content writer of the organization hogs on the
'kandoori ki sabzi' that her friend Seema brings occasionally.
She loves toying with words to bring out some
gibberish stuff every now and then. Likes watching 80s famous
light-hearted happy-go-lucky movies starring Farroq Sheikh and
Deepti Naval. Adores those R.D.Burman types 'mast' tracks. Thrives on the abundant info on just about anything
on the net from Murphy's Laws, to Kahlil Gibran, Osho to
Lucky Ali.
